Associate
(she/her)

Emily helps clients move from frustrated dreams to desired realities, balancing strong project roadmaps with the deep relationships that make change possible.

Emily Norton (she/her) is a facilitator, trainer, and organization development practitioner dedicated to strengthening the social change ecosystem. Her passion for nonprofit health and effectiveness began during her decade at the Institute for Policy Studies, where she founded and expanded a program for youth activists (now called the Henry Wallace Fellowship), while also leading organizational capacity building and union negotiations. She then launched into consulting and joined Keecha Harris and Associates, advising on inclusive people practices and organizational effectiveness, and she has also collaborated with groups such as Third Settlements and Co-Lab Consulting. Over her consulting career, she has supported strategic planning, developed learning communities and program pilots, and facilitated DEI training across the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. She holds a BA in International Development and an MS in Organization Development from American University.

Secret superpower:
Emily is a theory nerd who loves a good model—she’s ready to explain why you too could fall for the Meeting Canoe or GRPI at the next PowerPoint party.

Leadership philosophy:
“People support what they help to create, so let’s widen the circle of involvement—those impacted by the work should get to shape the work.”
